JANUARY 2024 - FROM KIM'S DESK AT 'QC DESIGN'
"I love Christmas. I start planning the decorating in my head right after Halloween. Our tradition has always been to cut down our tree as a family the day after Thanksgiving. Even though decorating starts early, every box pulled from our attic comes with dread……I have too many decorations. When every piece has been placed and the lights turned on, I love it. The warmth and joy our decorated house gives is magical. I enjoy every moment until December 26th. I want it gone. As I gather all the decorations to be put away until next year, I have the same thought……I have too many decorations. The image below is the only wintertime glow I convinced myself to keep up. It’s on our three season porch. I decided to look at my decorations from a new perspective. They do not have to be used for only one holiday, or purpose. I love the house when it's put back together. But through the window paned door I see the warm glow. Eventually these lights will come down soon…..did I mention I have too many decorations?! Happy New Year!"
